HAHAHAHAH NASH GRIER REPLIED TO MY DM BYE
Marianas Trench - By Now
Oh, when you look at me like that, my darling
What did you expect?
I probably still adore you with your hands around my neck
Or I did last time I checked
I took my girlfriend to an improv show the other night and during intermission we were passionately arguing over whether half a 5 Hour Energy shot would give you 2.5 hours of energy or 5 hours of half-assed energy so we turned around to ask the opinions of the three people behind us and one of them said “Are all your arguments like this because we heard you in the lobby earlier fighting over the right way to pronounce ‘egg’?”
get your game on

finally something that treats introverts and extroverts as equals
The punctuation is even accurate holy shit
Freaking thank you. Being shy and being an introvert are not the same thing, as well as being obnoxious and being an extrovert.

sincerely, a person who has been on prozac for 9 years
this is in response to some shitty stuff i’ve seen on my dash recently. it’s super simplified, so if you’d like to know some more indepth stuff on how exactly it works, google it—OR BETTER YET actually talk to a mental health doctor psychiatrist person wow
Prozac has literally stopped me killing myself. I would be dead if it weren’t for antidepressants. If you spread misinformation I’ll come to your house and smack u into orbit.
I’ll join you and steamroll people
I’m going to clarify that anti-depressants can make you feel numb or high but that this is not the intended purpose of the drugs and is a sign that the medication is not working properly. You are not imagining things if you experience these symptoms and you should got back to your doctor as soon as possible if you are, especially if you feel high as this can be a sign that you’re suffering from potentially fatal serotonin syndrome. If you experience that side effect call your doctor or consult another relevant health worker for advice immediately, don’t just wait a couple of days for an appointment or stop taking the meds without guidance. These symptoms can also be a part of the adjustment process to the medication in the first two weeks as your brain adapts to functioning normally again (or possibly for the first time) which is why your doctor might tell you to keep taking your medication anyway, but this is not something you’ll be able to tell for yourself so you must seek guidance on which it is.
A lot of the myths about anti-depressants came from people being put onto the wrong medication and, due to ableism, not being listened to when they complained about the side effects or being told to put up with them instead of being allowed to try a different drug. You have the absolute right to insist that your doctor let you try a different medication or a higher or lower dose if you feel that your medication isn’t working, don’t just let them tell you that this is as good as it gets or treat you like you’re making an unnecessary fuss (something especially done to women patients).
Medication is important. Like the other commenters on this post anti-depressants saved my life too, but you have to be taking the rights ones at the right dosage for them to work. Don’t let anyone dismiss your experiences with a particular drug or use them to keep you from trying another. Not all anti-depressants are alike and chances are there is one that will help you.
